Birchwood Elementary Math Thinkers! Building Problem Solvers on Problem at a Time
Focus: Our Team will be working on improved problem soloving skills in Math. Students working in teams will post different stragteties to solve math problems. Students will then interact with other teams working on the same solutions to compare answers and strategies used to love problems.
Technology Tools: Teachers will be using math websites and Student Teams will develop BLOGS.

Set Up and Integrate Classroom Blogs focused on solving problems
Create opportunites for students to use writing to explain math thinking
Coaching Plan:
Coaching Sessions will take place every other week. This will involve the whole team and will include developing math strategies and problems for use. The meetings will also provide time to learn about Blogging, and other ways to use technology tools in the math classroom.
Coaching will also include peer observation and individual diaglogue on a month basis. Teachers in the team have also requested time to visit the coaches classroom to see technology in action.
